County Week

Leicestershire & Rutland Win Again !!!!

It was a hard contested competition over 5 days. The course was tricky and the weather blustery, but despite all of the challenges set before us, we managed to win everyday and clinch the only place available for the England finals.

This is the 5th time we have qualified in 10 years and it is still a very big thrill.

The team performed everyday and delivered the points. We won by 6 clear points.

Home advantage definitely played a part.

The matches were played in excellent spirit and were inspiring to watch.

The week would of not been a success without the contribution from the following people:

Willesley Park Golf club….

Green Keeper—Thank you for preparing the course to a fantastic specification and for all your hard work.

Secretary—Thank you to Tina who provided all the necessary paperwork relating to the club.

Board—Thank you for allowing us the use of the course for this prestigious event and the support you have given us.

Catering—Thank you to Danielle and her team for supplying delicious food all week long.

Bar—Thank you to Jenny and her team for keeping us “watered” all week.

Hostesses—Each Hostesses did a fantastic job, making arrangements for their county.

Results Desk—Sybil Wallis, who manned the Results Desk for 12hrs per day and did a fabulous job recording the scores and ensuring all paper work was available when required.

Refreshments—The ladies at the 10th tee providing drinks and much needed biscuits to make it round the “loop”.

Locker Rooms— The rooms were kept spick and span and all week. Thanks to Ann Harrison & Cathy Cotton.

Flowers—The ladies who arranged the flowers for the Dining Tables and clubhouse did a marvellous job and they looked lovely. Thank you Ann Warren, Mary Shelton and Pat Robinson

Starters—Thank you to Mike Norris for starting, I am sure he enjoyed himself.

Caddies—Thank you to all the caddies who also gave up their time and hopefully they enjoyed themselves.

Hopefully we will see you all there in Bristol.

Our supporters were brilliant and it is very much appreciated that they take the time out to come and watch us.
