Leicestershire & Rutland Ladies County Golf Association were nominated within the 'County of the Year' category at the recent England Golf Centenary Awards held in Manchester.
England Golf CEO, Jeremy Tomlinson, said:
"What a night it was at The Midland Manchester, not just in celebrating 100 years of England Golf and the Rose, but in continuing to recognise the amazing people across the game today, who make it what it is.
"We received many fantastic nominations for clubs, volunteers and individuals across the country and we'd like to congratulate all of our finalists, and of course, our winner"
The Association President Alison Horak said " We are surprised but delighted to be nominated as County of the Year and whilst we were not shortlisted as a finalist we hope that the nomination shows that we, the Executive, are committed to supporting women and girls golf in our County and will continue to support all our members going forward"
