County Shield 2024 - Lingdale Golf Club

LRLCGA Noticeboard : County Shield 2024 - Lingdale Golf Club

The LRLCGA County Shield was held at Lingdale Golf club on a fine but windy day. 
Fourteen teams battled for the Silver Division Shield and nineteen teams for the Bronze Division Shield. 
 
The winners of the Silver Shield were Lutterworth Golf club who were represented by Gemma and Carolyn Parkes-Walley and Holly Waterfield with a  winning score of 231.
The runners up were Willesley Park Golf Club represented by Jo Morris-Bourne, Tracy Bourne and Eleanor Parkinson with a score of 241.
 
The winners of the bronze shield were Lingdale represented by Paula Bennett, Alison Sage and Susan Boulton with a winning score of 218
The runners up of the Bronze Shield were Luffenham Heath represented by Caroline Beaty, Anglea Glover and Liz James with a score of 235
 
The best Gross score and winner of the Ellis Trophy with a gross of 73 was Jo Morris- Bourne of Willesley Golf Club.
 
The best Nett score and winner of the Vincent Trophy was Caroline Beaty of Luffenham Heath Golf Club with a nett score of 69
 
The winner of the best individual nett in the scratch competition was Carolyn Parkes-Walley of Lutterworth Golf Club with a nett 73
 
The winner of best individual gross score in the Handicap division was Susan Boulton of Lingdale Golf Club with a gross score of 92
* please note players can only win one individual prizes
 
The matches were played in great spirit on a challenging course with some great individual scores. 
 
President Alison Horak thanked Lingdale for hosting the event, the Lady Captain Sharron Scott for all her help and Cate Alexander from Rothley Park Golf Club who ran the event on behalf of the County Association.
