This year it was Leicestershire & Rutland Ladies County Golf Association turn to host the Midlands North Region ‘Queen of Clubs’ on behalf of England Golf.
We were very fortunate to secure Longcliffe Golf Club as a venue as all the competitors were current Club Champions, so a 'challenging ' course was needed and they got just that!
Speedy greens and ‘rough’ that balls entered never to be seen again coupled with winds provided by Storm Lilian meant a battle was on to post a good score.
52 players from six counties took on the challenge and the winner was none other than one of our own members Barbara Suffolk from Lingdale Golf Club with a gross score of 78, a great score considering the conditions mentioned above.
2nd place went to another LRLCGA member Gabriella Crowfoot (Kirby Muxloe) with a Gross 79 (b9).
3rd best gross was Emily Sutton from Walsall Golf Club with 79 Gross again on the back 9
4th best gross was Katelyn Wilkie from Lilleshall Hall with a gross 79 again on the back nine just narrowly beating our own Caz Parkes- Walley.
We had 2 Nett prizes and the best Nett with a score of 71 was Claire Wallhead of Tapton Park.
2nd best Nett went to Caroline Carryer of Trentham Golf Club with a Nett score of 73
Our thanks to Longliffe Golf Club for hosting, all their officials and staff who helped the day run smoothly and particular thanks to County Captain Suzanne Pretty and Ladies Captain Amanda Morgan for all their help and support on the day.
