Making their debut for the County, the skills of Eleanor Parkinson (Willesley Park) and Elexis Brown (The Leicestershire GC) were on show in the sunshine in their match against Lincolnshire, played at Trent Lock GC on Sunday July 15, 2018. Unfortunately, due to the early start of school holidays, Leicestershire was only able to field a team of three, thus gifting two points to Lincolnshire. However, undeterred by this disadvantage, the girls demonstrated great tenacity!
Eleanor won her match 2&1. Hannah Garner Stephens (Rothley Park), who has been shining at her club recently, came up against a player who was in a rich vein of form:despite playing very well, Hannah eventually lost her match 4&3. Elexis got off to a great start and was up in her match very early. She sparkled around the greens with magnificent chipping and putting skills. She held her lead for most of the match but her opponent was able to master the last few holes and Elexis lost 2&1.
Well done girls!!
Final Score: L&R 1 - Lincs 4
