Unfortunately this was our last game of the season. But we tried so hard for it not to be. The 4th game of our league saw us welcome Lincolnshire to Kibworth Golf Club on a bright and and sunny day in the East  of Leicestershire. We went into this game being at the top of our division, level on matches won with Lincolnshire but we had a one point advantage in the games So it was all to play for.

The foursomes pairings of Francesca Brimm and Emily Wolverson, Lisa Porter with Mia Ashton and Sally Jee and Fiona Sharman had a difficult morning but we managed to secure a 1/2 a point in the final game.

This meant it was all down to the singles.  And we started off really well. Mia was 2 up after 9, on her home course, Francesca was all square going down 10, Emily was 2 up after 6, but by the 9th was all square, as was Lisa, and Sally was doing really well by being 3 up after 9. Fiona was frustrated as she was 2 behind going down the 10th.

But the strong Lincolnshire Girls were doing their hardest to pull back the matches where they were down in, and managed a great fight back. We ended up loosing the Singles 2 1/2 to 3 1/2, but there were fabulous wins by Francesca, Sally and Fiona.

I would like to thank Kibworth Golf Club for their wonderful hospitality, County Captain Rachel for her support on the day and to the wonderful team members of 2026 who have all been representing their County with huge enthusiasm, playing great golf and gritty spirit.
