L&R Girls Championship finally went ahead on Sunday 20th July at Hinckley Golf Club after being postponed due to thunder/lightening 2 weeks before.
No rain delays this time but we did have two thunder interruptions. As a result the 36 Hole Championship was declared over 18 holes and the 18 hole declared on a reduced course. The 9 holers did finish as did the Flag 50 girls. We got there in the end!
Conditions were wet and difficult but some great golf was scored by everyone. Big thank you to all the players, parents and helpers for their patience and understanding.
Big thank you to everyone at Hinckley for their great support over the 2 days. (Lovely to see Helen Buckingham, Lady President and Lady Captain during the day) Special thanks to our brilliant referees Andy Robinson and Paul Gerrard and County Secretary Karen Bland and her husband who all worked so hard to enable the event to take place and eventually finish! Well done Team L&R.
