Surprisingly it was a cool start at our return match against Nottinghamshire at The Leicestershire but the heat would soon be coming through and also in the matches. In the foursomes Ella Cunningham and Emily Wolverson were playing the experienced Janet Peters and Madison Clarke and came in with a 2 up result.

Francesca Brimm and Eesha Patel who was playing her debut match for the second team, had a great win with a 3 and 2 victory whilst the experience of Sally Jee and Fiona Sharman finished their match on the 14th with a 5 and 4  win , and this meant it was a 3 - 0 result to Leicestershire and Rutland.

Two of our players, Emily and Aisha are members of the Leicestershire Golf Club and they used their local knowledge to win both of their games 4 and 3 and 2 and 1  respectively. Fiona had a tough match against Carol Houghton and lost on the 17th after Fiona's tee shot took a nasty bounce and went through the Green. Francesca beat the very long hitting Amelia by 3 and 2 and Ella was much happier with her play and beat Janet 4 and 3. Unfortunately, Sally who battled to the very end lost one up after her tee shot also had a horrendous bounce on the par 3 17th and this meant that her ball went into the hedge at the back.

It was a fantastic effort by everyone and the team won 7 matches to 2.
