The 2^nd Team played Lincolnshire at Lingdale GC on Thursday 21^st August.

Some great golf was played by both teams under tricky conditions and fast greens.

Tracey Bates and Fiona Sharman led the way and won the first foursomes match 2/1. This was followed with a 3/1 victory by home players Barbara Suffolk and Chloe Edmonds. Sally Jee and Victoria Mayfield came up against tough opposition and lost their match 4/3, so we had a narrow 2-1 lead at lunch.

Local knowledge helped Barbara Suffolk and Chloe Edmonds win their singles matches. The remaining matches were very close and all of them went to the 17^th hole. Victoria Mayfield, Sally Jee and Tracey Bates all won by 2/1. The overall match result was a victory to Leicestershire & Rutland by 7 to 2. Well played everyone.

Many thanks to Lingdale for hosting the match and for looking after us so well all day. You definitely get the award for the best cake we have had so far this season!

Our last match is the return fixture against Lincolnshire at Belton Woods next Tuesday. This will determine which team goes through to the 2^nd Team Finals which are being held at Longcliffe GC on Friday 5^th September.
