The 2^nd Team played their return match against Nottinghamshire at Kirby Muxloe GC on Wednesday 30^th July.

Emily Wolverson from The Leicestershire and Ella Cunningham of Kilworth Springs were both making their debut for the 2^nd Team.

We made a great start in the morning foursomes with Rachel East and Lucy Wheeler taking the first match 2/1. Lisa Porter and Ella Cunningham followed this with a 3/1 victory in the second match. Victoria Mayfield and Emily Wolverson were up against stiff competition and were 6 down at the turn. However, they dug deep and fought their way back to finish All Square after 18 holes – a fantastic achievement. This left us 2.5 – 0.5 up at lunch.

The afternoon singles were very close with Rachel East, Lisa Porter, Lucy Wheeler and Victoria Mayfield all winning their matches. The overall match result was a victory to Leicestershire & Rutland by 6¹/₂ to 2¹/₂.
