The 2^nd Team played their first away match of the season against Nottinghamshire at Wollaton Park on Wednesday 7^th August. It was a blustery day and the wind picked up in the afternoon making playing conditions tricky.

Rachel East & Victoria Mayfield led the way in the morning foursomes and played well to finish 2 up. Lisa Porter & Chloe Edmonds lost their match to a birdie on the 17^th hole. Sally Jee & Beth Swain won their match on the 18^th hole. This put Leicestershire & Rutland 2-1 up at lunch.

All the afternoon singles were very close with 5 out of the 6 matches going to the 17^th hole. Rachel East & Lisa Porter won their matches with some steady golf. Unfortunately, Victoria Mayfield and Beth Swain came up against some tough opposition and narrowly lost out. This meant that the match would be settled by the last two games out on the course. Chloe Edmonds played really well to finish All Square and Sally Jee won on the 17^th hole. The overall match score was a victory of 5¹/₂ - 3¹/₂ to Leicestershire & Rutland, but it felt much closer.

Wollaton Park was a lovely setting for golf with the deer wandering across the fairways and good views of Wollaton Hall. The course was in excellent condition and everyone enjoyed their matches.

Our last match of the season is against Lincolnshire at Holme Hall on Friday 16^th August.
