Women in Golf Charter Social Scramble Brings Women Together at Lingdale

Sunday 6 September 2026

The Leicestershire & Rutland Ladies County Golf Association’s Women in Golf Charter continued to make a positive impact with a hugely successful Social Scramble at Lingdale Golf Club, bringing together 39 women from 10 clubs across the county.

The Texas Scramble format was designed to provide a relaxed and welcoming opportunity for women to enjoy golf, meet players from other clubs and build new connections. Teams were made up of golfers from different clubs, creating a fantastic atmosphere of friendship, support and friendly competition.

Women represented Willesley Park, Glen Gorse, Beedles Lake, Kirby Muxloe, Market Harborough, The Leicestershire, Lutterworth, Lingdale, Scraptoft and Cosby, alongside iGolfers.

A key reason for the event's success was the fantastic support of the Club Women in Golf Charter Champions, who promoted the event within their clubs and encouraged women to take part. Their enthusiasm and commitment continue to play an important role in creating more opportunities for women to engage with golf.

With clubs working together and Charter Champions leading the way, Leicestershire & Rutland continues to build a stronger and more connected future for women and girls in golf.

Events such as the Lingdale Social Scramble are exactly what the Women in Golf Charter is about. It is not simply about getting more women onto the golf course. It is about creating welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable opportunities where women can build confidence, meet other golfers, develop friendships and feel that they belong within the game.

If there are any clubs that would like to host an event in the future please contact Rachel East.
